We honor and respect each other\u2019s religious heritages, welcome and pray for each other, and share information about pressing community needs.<\/p>\n<p>EISCC members represent many Eastside faith communities and meet monthly on the second Tuesdays, lunch available from 11:45, meeting starts at noon, at First Congregational Church, Bellevue.\u00a0 We are currently meeting in person and via Zoom (see the link in the area to the left).\u00a0<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We provide a forum to educate, advocate, initiate, coordinate, and support through task forces and other means, to work for the common good, and to address human needs and improve the quality of life of the citizens living in the eastside communities of Bellevue, Kirkland, Issaquah, Renton, and Redmond.<\/p>\n<p>For the full list of officers and board members, see the Contacts tab.<\/p>\n<p>Linda Hillesheim<a href=\"https:\/\/slukes.org\/\">,<\/a> EISCC board member, represents the Eastside faith community on the board of the <a href=\"https:\/\/togethercenter.org\/thecollaborative\/\">East King County Human Services Collaborative<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>EISCC sponsors one sub-agency,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/congregations4kids.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Congregations for Kids<\/a>, which provides school supplies for children in Bellevue schools. \u00a0Three prior EISCC sub-agencies now operate independently:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/porchlightcares.org\/\">Porchlight<\/a>\u00a0(formerly Congregations for the Homeless), and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/sophiaway.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Sophia Way<\/a>\u00a0support homeless men and women on the Eastside.\u00a0 Former sub-agency Backpack Meals for Kids, now absorbed into\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.backpackbrigade.org\/\">Backpack Brigade,<\/a> which still provides supplemental nutrition for Bellevue school children.<\/p>\n<p>EISCC is an IRS\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/eiscc.net\/?page_id=73\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">501(c)(3) tax exempt entity<\/a>, EIN 94-3036001.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MISSION STATEMENT Members of Eastside Interfaith Social Concerns Council (\u201cEISCC\u201d) believe we are guided by the moving of God\u2019s spirit in our community to work together in a spirit of caring and celebration.
