EISCC is committed to educating ourselves and supporting others in learning about the past history and current reality of the Indigenous Coast Salish Peoples. We honor and respect their presence here and we thank them for continuing to live on, and care for, this land since time immemorial. We specifically acknowledge the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe (sdukwalbix) who have reserved treaty rights to this land.
As part of the effort to educate ourselves and others, we have listed some resources which reflect a range of perspectives on these complex issues and which we hope may be helpful in the learning process. Due to the history of Indigenous People in the Americas, some of these resources may describe events that are traumatic and discretion is advised. If you are aware of other materials that could be added to this list, please contact us at eastsideinterfaith@gmail.com.
